Welcome

Welcome to the Community of Federal Regulators' Website.

Regulations are a key means by which the federal government pursues its policy objectives, and are critical to maintaining the health and safety of Canadians, the protection of the environment, the smooth functioning of the economy, and ensuring Canada's competitiveness globally.

The Community of Federal Regulators (CFR) is a partnership of federal departments and agencies involved in the development and management of regulations. The CFR is a professional community of interest that supports the work of regulators working in CFR partner departments and agencies.

The CFR is championed by Health Canada’s Deputy Minister Glenda Yeates, Health Canada Assistant Deputy Minister, Meena Ballantyne, and Environment Canada Assistant Deputy Minister Cynthia Wright. The work of the CFR is supported by a Secretariat housed in Health Canada.
